Privacy Policy

LAST UPDATED: OCTOBER 23, 2026

1. Commitment to Client-Side Privacy

LeadMap ("we", "our", or "the Extension") was engineered from day one with a privacy-first, client-side architecture. Unlike centralized cloud scrapers that upload your queries and extracted contacts to remote servers, LeadMap executes 100% locally within your Google Chrome browser sandbox.

Your prospecting searches, captured business leads, phone numbers, client emails, and downloaded spreadsheets never leave your machine. We do not store, view, monetize, rent, or sell your lead lists to any third parties.

2. Data We Process & Where It Lives

  • Public Business Data: Extracted data (Business Name, Category, Phone, Street Address, Rating, Reviews, Website URL, Latitude/Longitude, and Place ID) is read strictly from standard, public Google Maps search result cards that you actively search for.
  • Local Storage: All captured leads are stored in your private browser sandbox via chrome.storage.local. This data remains strictly on your device and is erased whenever you click "Clear All Leads" or uninstall the extension.
  • License Key & Device Validation: When activating a Pro Lifetime license, our license server verifies your key and records an anonymous hardware hash to enforce the 2-device activation limit. No personal browsing history or lead data is transmitted during license verification.
  • Anonymous Quality Telemetry: Optional, aggregate operational telemetry (such as total export counts, Google Maps DOM selector health, and error codes) is transmitted to monitor scraper stability and patch upstream Google Maps layout changes.

3. Chrome Extension Permissions Justification

LeadMap declares only the minimal permissions required to extract and export leads:

  • sidePanel: Enables the native Chrome sidepanel UI alongside Google Maps without cluttering your browser tabs.
  • storage: Persists your extracted leads and settings locally in chrome.storage.local.
  • downloads: Allows direct 1-click export of generated Excel (.xlsx) and CSV files to your local Downloads folder.
  • tabs & scripting: Synchronizes search queries from active Google Maps tabs and auto-scrolls search result feeds upon user initiation.
  • host_permissions (*://*.google.com/maps*): Grants access to parse public search result cards on Google Maps.
  • host_permissions (*://*/*): Used strictly when the "Website Email & Social Finder" feature is activated to make read-only HTTP requests to the public websites of businesses found on Maps in order to locate public owner emails, Facebook/Instagram links, and CMS technologies. LeadMap never injects scripts or logs keystrokes on third-party websites.

4. Data Sharing & Third Parties

We do NOT sell, rent, trade, or transfer any user data, contact lists, or search records to any data brokers, advertisers, or third-party platforms. Payment processing for Lifetime Pro licenses is securely handled by PayPal; we never store or process your credit card numbers.

5. Your Rights & Data Deletion

Because your leads are stored locally in your browser, you have complete control over your data. You can delete all captured records at any time by clicking "Clear Table" in the extension drawer or by uninstalling the extension from chrome://extensions.
